Women’s Health Primary Care Continuing Education and Professional Development for NPs and PAs
The ThriveAP Women’s Health Primary Care Program offers a structured, systems-based curriculum that includes didactic clinical training in prenatal care, family planning, menopausal management, gynecological procedures, sexual health, and preventive care. This program was designed to align with the clinical guidelines from the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (WHNP) as well as the OB-GYN PA CAQ Blueprint.
Women’s Health Primary Care Program Goals
Whether the participant is a new NP or PA, a practitioner transitioning to women’s health, a midwife, or an expert provider moving to a new field, the 12-month program uses the latest evidence-based practice to mitigate learning gaps and upskill providers to gain confidence and competence in women’s health.
In addition to clinical didactic experiences, participants engage in case discussions, journal clubs, and individual mentorship opportunities to enhance their clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice skills. The program also emphasizes cultural competence, patient advocacy, and interprofessional collaboration to prepare nurse practitioners to deliver holistic, patient-centered care to women in diverse healthcare settings.
