A look at our nurse practitioner residency info session
Are you stressed about what life will look like after you graduate from your nurse practitioner program? Where will you work? How well supported will the transition from education to practice be in your new job? What will you do when questions inevitably arise? If new grad concerns are keeping you up at night, ThriveAP+ can help.
ThriveAP+ is a residency-like program for less experienced NPs. The program offers support to new grads by providing a nurse practitioner peer group, clinical education such as practice with procedures, and by matching nurse practitioners with facilities that have expectations and support in line with what new grads need to succeed. If this sounds like something that would give your nurse practitioner career a solid foundation, the ThriveAP+ learning adventure just may be for you.
Last week, we hosted a webinar lunch for NPs and NP students interested in learning more about ThriveAP+. If you missed our session, we recorded the webinar for your review. As you watch, keep the following application deadlines in mind.
- Application deadline for April 2017 start: December 1, 2016
- Application deadline for September 2017 start: March 31, 2017

Why is the ThriveAP+ salary so low? Can I have a second job while working in the residency? What residency placings are in Georgia?
Hi Scott,
The ThriveAP+ salary is actually higher than that of most other residency programs. Post-graduate NP programs pay less than typical nurse practitioner salaries given that participants see fewer patients and take time away from clinical work for learning opportunities.
We are still working on finalizing sites for our 2017 ThriveAP+ classes. As we receive applications to the program, we make note of applicant’s location preferences and will work to identify sites in that area.
Applicants with the flexibility to relocate have the best chance of being matched with a site, but we try our best to identify sites for all qualified applicants.
Where do you find salary offered and where positions are located?
I am about to enter my FNP clinicals in January. I’m trying to find a residency program in the metro Atlanta area for after I graduate in the fall of 2019.
Thank You
