7 Winter CME Conferences for Nurse Practitioners

Can you believe it’s already time to plan winter travel? Apparently the rest of the country forgot to send me the memo. I sat down at my laptop yesterday to book post-New Year’s Eve travel only to discover a number of flights had already been sold out. Mini panic mode ensued. Fortunately, I found a flight to accommodate my intended travel itinerary. If you’re planning to attend a continuing medical education conference this winter, it’s time to get it on the books. Here are a few options to consider.

Practical Pediatrics in Nashville, TN

Whether your nurse practitioner practice includes exclusively treating children, or you work in primary care with patients of all ages, a brush-up on your know-how with little one’s is never a bad idea. Not to mention, this conference is held in Nashville, TN, a place I have grown to love. From cruising Broadway to checking out the city’s Johnny Cash Museum or ever growing list of fine dining restaurants, Nashville has something for everyone. The added bonus of obtaining 17 continuing education credits on an employer-funded visit to the city is too good to pass up.

Emergencies and Challenges in Primary Care in New York City

What better time to visit New York City than when lit up in it’s pre-holiday glow. From management of pulmonary edema and severe headaches to new treatment guidelines for STIs, this conference is packed full with content relevant to nurse practitioners working in emergency medicine and primary care. While attending this conference you just might have time to fit in a little Christmas shopping, or purchase a few items for yourself as well.
