7 Stocking Stuffers for the Nurse Practitioner In Your Life

Stockings are hands-down my favorite part of Christmas. Growing up, I loved running down the stairs on Christmas morning to find an overflowing stocking hanging from the mantle. There’s something about the mix of just-for-fun and practical little gifts a stocking contains that I love. Not to mention, early morning stocking gift sessions are the perfect excuse to eat chocolate treats before breakfast.

This year, I’m concerned I may not have found quite the ideal array of stocking stuffers for my husband. So, I’m on the hunt for an additional gag gift or two. How’s your holiday shopping coming along? If you could use some retail inspiration, these stocking stuffers for the nurse practitioner in your life just may do the trick.

1. Prinstagram Calendar

Everyone knows photos look better after they’ve been subjected to an Instagram filter or two. Compile your favorite pics into a thoughtful stocking stuffer for your sig-o. Social Studio Print (formerly Prinstagram) helps Instagram users create a mini calendar featuring a photo memory for every day of the year. If coming up with 365 flattering pictures seems overwhelming, opt for a photo minibook instead.

2. L. Erickson Ponytail Holders

As a long-haired nurse practitioner, it seems I’m always in need of a ponytail holder. These selections from L. Erickson are my go-to fix in a pinch. They hold my hair snugly without pulling, tangling or leaving the dreaded ponytail crease and add just a touch of color to the classic hairdo. My new favorite style from the brand, the Sport Pony, is a fun, less understated option.

3. Why You’re So Awesome Fill-In-The-Blank Journal

Every nurse practitioner has a bad day here and there. So why not give your NP loved one a reminder that you care. The Why You’re So Awesome Fill-In-The-Blank Journal contains lines to describe some aspect of awesomeness about a friend, sibling, or sig-o. Complete each line and viola, you have a unique, personal, and pleasantly unexpected stocking stuffer.

4. FIGS Seamless Underscrub Shirt

Winter is here and with it the need for an added layer for the scrub-wearing nurse practitioner. FIGS scrubs has cornered the market on making scrubs cool and doesn’t disappoint with this Seamless Longsleeve Underscrub top. The warm base layer is a must for frigid winter drives in to the hospital or clinic and can even double as workout wear when the NP in your life drops by the gym after a stressful shift.

5. Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Headphones

These noise cancelling headphones by Bose fit easily into a stocking, but their price point justifies them as more of a primary Christmas gift. However you choose to gift them, by stocking or under the tree, noise cancelling headphones are handy for the easily distracted nurse practitioner. These headphones drown out background noise helping the busy nurse practitioner focus on charting, continuing education, or simply get a much needed moment of peace and quiet.

6. VIM & VIGR Compression Stockings

A long hospital shift can leave the nurse practitioner’s feet puffy, painful, and swollen. Prevent aching feet and legs with VIM & VIGR’s fashionable compression stockings. A step above typical therapeutic leg wear, stockings come in polka dot, argyle, stripes and more!

7. Make + Model Eye Mask

A trusty eye mask is a must for the nurse practitioner working all nighters. Help the NP in your life get the precious zzzz’s he or she needs to recover from an overnight shift with this stocking essential. Make + Model eye masks come in fun critter designs and are the perfect way to brighten the post-night shift mood (you know what I’m talking about).
